Travelteer

Travelteer are planning on running overseas projects in summer 2022. Please also refer to our Frequently asked questions for more information.

Travelteer focuses on responsible travel and ethical volunteering.  Their philosophy blends inspiring adventure with high impact volunteering while maintaining a safe, social environment.  Their theory is simple; you choose one of the volunteering programmes and they organise the project and mix in some time for adventure. The projects all support Travelteer Impact where 100% of your fund raising goes directly to their projects in Sri Lanka.

Travelteer run six different programmes based in Sri Lanka:

  • English Development programme - volunteers assist and lead lessons in the classroom, working with the curriculum and supporting pupils to gain a higher level of English developing key skills such as speaking, reading and writing.
  • Sports Development programme - volunteers work at a ‘grass-roots level’ to benefit school children in Sri Lanka by developing and improving their sports ability.  This helps to provide a route to university via sports for disadvantaged children.
  • Marine and Wildlife Conservation programme - this combines several different sub-programmes with the aim to help rehabilitate and conserve the environment and marine life in Sri Lanka. Help replant the jungle, rehabilitate turtles and work at their wild animal hospital, plus more!
  • Textiles and Design - this project aims to train and educate local women in textile skills and techniques. There is the opportunity for volunteers to design, develop and create new product lines for Travelteer’s partner, Manacare.

They also run one programme in Nepal:
