How the University can help you to volunteer...

If you are keen to volunteer and want some guidance and support to do so, we have a dedicated Volunteering and Community Engagement Team here at the University, which will encourage you to volunteer through a variety of ways.

For example:

  • We advertise hundreds of volunteering opportunities that are available across Greater Manchester. You can access these opportunities directly and contact the charities/voluntary organisations to apply to volunteer via the Volunteering Hub
  • We work with many international charities, giving you the opportunity to volunteer overseas
  • If you are part of a student group taking part in a volunteering project, we can provide you with mentoring and support. We can also provide you with one-to-one advice to help you with any volunteering queries that you may have
  • We will keep you up to date with the latest volunteering news and events via this website and social media
  • We can also inform you of how you can get your volunteering recognised.

Furthermore if you are undertaking the Manchester Leadership Programme or another University College Challenges, we will provide you with bespoke opportunities to enable you to volunteer.

Student Volunteering Week

Monday 19 to Sunday 25 February 2018

The Big Action Day is happening again on Wednesday 21 February as part of Student Volunteering Week. This will involve transforming parts of Fallowfield and Withington and you can pop along for just an hour or the whole day - it is entirely up to you. It'll just be great to have loads of you involved!

It is always fascinating to see the work and effort we put in come to life and help the society somehow. Hopefully we have a positive impact on the people in Manchester.
