Action Tutoring unlocks the potential of children and young people who are facing disadvantage. It tackles the attainment gap head-on by forging partnerships with schools. Its trained volunteer tutors are empowered to enable pupils to make meaningful academic progress, opening doors to future opportunities.
Anumana has a code academy which has a vision to teach 1,000 disadvantaged children to use Python every year in Greater Manchester. By challenging the growing technical skills gap and encouraging under-represented populations to learn a key technical skill, and by developing a nurturing community between schools, universities and businesses, Anumana aims to create better technical career opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people.
Be Free looks at raising awareness of mental health and the stigma associated with mental health. It works to break down the stigma and help people "BE FREE". After working within schools and communities in the UK, it is now trying to make a difference in Universities around the UK. Through street campaigns, social media and ambassadors it aims to demolish the stigma in society and promote the free expression of individual values.
The Blue Letter Project is a non-profit organisation focusing on psychological accompaniment and research for left-behind children. There are 26.7 million left-behind children in China, whose parents work and live in other places for a living. Blue Letter trains volunteers to provide left-behind children with one-on-one long-term (more than one year) letter companionship, guiding them to grow up healthily and happily.

Childline is a free, 24/7 confidential service for children and young people up to age 19, run by the NSPCC (the UK's leading child protection charity). It provides support through phone, online chat, and email for any concerns, issues, or worries a child may be experiencing, such as bullying, mental health problems, or troubles at home. Heswall Disabled Children’s Holiday Fund host free holidays for disabled children. It is driven by a desire to provide opportunities for those children that might not otherwise be available to them, and to provide respite to their families.
Every year it hosts two camps - one in the North West of England, and the other in the South West of England. At the camps the children benefit from the independence it offers them. For many, this is the only time they spend away from home all year. Each camp is attended by around 35 children (aged 9-15) and 35 volunteer helpers, as it tries to aim for a one-to-one ratio of children to helpers. The programme for each camp includes both on-site activities as well as day trips out, including to the zoo, swimming, bowling, theme parks and local areas like Blackpool or Weston-Super-Mare.

Young people from the UK's most disadvantaged postcodes are half as likely to get five 9-4 grades at GCSE, and nearly four times less likely to go to university. This makes it harder for these young people to succeed in a competitive job market. The long-term effects can be felt across society, as communities with low education and employment prospects become increasingly marginalised. By raising aspirations, IntoUniversity aims to tackle this issue, giving these young people a chance at a brighter future.
Just Like Us is the LGBT+ young people’s charity. Growing up LGBT+ is still unacceptably tough. Founded in 2016, Just Like Us works with schools and young people across the UK to change this.

Rekindle School is a national youth-led education charity, which has a mission is to transform the education system from the ground up, to level the playing field and inspire young people to be bold critical thinkers and changemakers in their communities and beyond. It runs a supplementary school four days a week for 11-14 year olds in the heart of Hulme.
Alongside running sessions for young people centred around Rekindle's 4Cs (creativity, cultural education, critical thinking and changemaking), it supports members of the local community who are struggling with the rising cost of living and/or food insecurity. It campaigns, advocates and promotes the role and value of sport, art, culture and digital technology in the lives of disaffected young people from disadvantaged communities nationally and internationally. The Youth Charter has a proven track record in the creation and delivery of social and human development programmes with the overall aim of providing young people with an opportunity to develop in life.
Specifically, the Youth Charter tackles educational non-attainment, health inequality, anti-social behaviour and the negative effects of crime, drugs, gang related activity and racism by applying the ethics of sporting and artistic excellence. These can then be translated to provide social and economic benefits of citizenship, rights responsibilities, with improved education, health, citizenship, environment and aspiration for further and higher education, employment and entrepreneurship.
